So the latest word from the prophecy preacher circuit is that if B H Obama wins the election in November, that Israel will commence bombing of Iran almost immediately afterward.
The line of reasoning here is that Obama will not support Israel long term in its stand against Iran as a nuclear power. There are probably variants of thoughts as to why ranging from BHO being (a) ultra-liberal, (b) a Muslim-friendly leader, (c) a novice when it comes to really dealing with foreign policy, especially mid-East foreign policy, to other views not enumerated here.
Israel would have about 70 days more or less of a remaining George W Bush presidency to initiate action which could result in retaliation from Russia and others. In that scenario, Bush would be much more inclined to stand by our ally than a greenhorn Obama would any time in the next four years.
Oh, interestingly enough, one of the thoughts behind the recent incursion by Russia in to Georgia is that the latter had an agreement with Israel to provide refueling to Israel’s air fleet in the event of an attack in Iran. Russia moved into Georgia and, among other things, destroyed all the air bases. Convenient move, Mr KGB Putin.
(Whenever the noise level in Russia gets too loud due to city traffic, the residents put up their “Honk if you trust Putin” signs. It gets awful quiet after that.)
What do you think? If Obama wins, will Israel do it or not?
