Sick of GoDaddy’s Porn Commercials? Then Move.
Categories: Spirituality

I’m not a GoDaddy (aka PornDaddy) fan. I don’t appreciate the fact that they push porn as part of their “advertising.” That being said, I don’t register domains through them and wouldn’t choose to for these reasons — regardless of their price.

I had a friend call me today asking me if it is possible to change registrars. He originally registered a domain with GoDaddy before he knew their affinity for porn. He did not realize that it is possible to change domain registrars, thinking that you are stuck with the registrar you originally used. I had a chance to inform him that there are numerous registrars out there who are happy to compete for the domain business, many of which are not blatant supporters of immoral advertising. You can move your domain registration about any time you feel like it.

In browsing the web tonight, I found a link to Wired Magazine (which I generally don’t like to read for their amoral or anti-moral stance) which actually gave some space to the views of a Christian web designer named Brian Harrell who is pulling domains off GoDaddy because of numerous client calls demanding he do so. (Good for the clients. I wonder if he would have done it himself without the calls…)

If you are looking for a good web hosting, e-mail hosting or domain services provider, I can put you in contact with one which definitely doesn’t support pornography with your customer dollars. WingNET.NET hosts this site and provides great service.
