Ten years ago Tony Martin of Norfolk, England shot a gun in the direction of two burglars. He didn’t miss.
The rest was “made for the tabloids,” as they might say in Britain. He was made a scapegoat for all the outlandish gun control and criminal’s rights thinkers in the whole of Britian. For defending his property, Tony Martin was jailed.
Now, out of jail, Jenny Johnston decided to interview him for The Daily Mail. You can read the article at this link, but you might get a bit ill if you are sane.
You see, Britain is still under the control of the people who lovingly believe that everyone is created with an infinite amount of goodness within them, that hardly anyone really desires to do wrong, and that punishment (at most) should consist of light taps on the wrist — followed immediately by salve, bandages, a pension and profuse apologies.
Jenny, here’s an idea for an article for you: do some research on the right to defend a person’s home, family and property throughout world history. Civilized countries, developing countries, tribal areas, and even biblical principles detail that breaking into someone else’s home — especially at night — put you in a position of being apprehended, wounded or killed without any retribution to the home owner.
What about that Jenny? What is it that makes YOU queasy about any person defending his property? Oh, that’s right. There are NO murders in Britain. No, no, that’s not right. Maybe it’s the fact that you haven’t had to deal with terrorists on your own soil. Oops, scratch that one. Uh, maybe it’s because over there you have only good-intentioned criminals. Whoops. Verbal faux pas.
Jenny, the rest of the civilized world reading your article truly is glad that you were not on Tony Martin’s jury. And we hope you are never on anyone else’s jury — for any reason. You have been imbibed with criminal rights thinking to the point that you are useless as an objective party in a criminal trial.
Folks, whatever happened to justice? Whatever happened to criminals getting theirs — and getting it swiftly? Why must the public moon and moan over how young or how pretty or how undernourished or how whatever a criminal IS instead of looking at the objective facts that THEY BROKE THE LAW and CHOSE TO BREAK THE LAW.
Hey Jenny, why don’t you study Kennesaw Georgia. Yes, that IS the town that several years ago MANDATED that every home owner is required to own a firearm. (Gasping heard all the way THIS side of the Atlantic.) Go ahead and do your study. I won’t spoil it for you. Then write an article about that. It might save your life one day. Or the lives of your family. Use your influence to build up your country’s defense while there is still time.
And while you’re digging for stories, you might write a nice juicy article on the hateful Muslims who just attacked a Christian minister over there — the report about it was in the same newspaper you write for, by the way. Here’s the link again for your convenience.. Maybe you can do an interview with them and find out how underprivileged they were and how the Christian minister’s views caused them to weep great tears at night because of the way he made them feel. Oh, and ask them for their view of women, while you’re at it. If you have the guts.
But leave Tony Martin alone. Whether he is sane according to your psychologists, whether he is anti-social, or whether he is batty as a belfry, he has a right (a God-given right) to protect his home from intruders. You’ve missed that point.
