Good Words About the Cat Killer?
Categories: Uncategorized

The reign of terror on cats has apparently come to an end in the Miami-Dade area. That’s according to police who have arrested Tyler Weinman on suspicion of killing and/or mutilating the bodies of at least nineteen animals. (You can read more by following this link.

Now, in our legal system, Tyler is innocent until proven guilty, regardless of what the media says or how they handle it.  So we should withhold judgment until something is proven beyond a shadow of doubt in this case.

What I found interesting was some of the comments from cat owners. One person suggested that Tyler should go to prison for life.

Wow. I find that attitude shocking.

Don’t these people realize some of the following good things about Tyler?

  • He’s a swim coach
  • He’s known as a humorous fellow, the class clown
  • People who know him say their cats love him
  • He has been described as a “caring, sweet boy” who played with dogs

He may even be an usher in the church he attends (hint, hint).

You see, we live in a very twisted country where we value the lives of noble, yet lesser creatures known as cats and dogs more than we value the lives of babies made in the image of God.

One of the gruesome acts committed against a cat victim was that its eyes were gouged out and its snout was cut off.  When I read that, I couldn’t help but think of the butchering inside of a mother’s womb which results in a living human being dismembered and sucked out of her mother’s body in a bloody vacuum tube.

Yet George Tiller never saw the inside of a prison cell for his torture of 60,000 unborn infants.

We’ll decry the “twisted” and “sick” actions of what may admittedly be a troubled youth.  But we’ll eulogize a mass murderer as a fine upstanding citizen.

Maybe Tyler should have simply contributed more funds to the campaigns of his local governor — or at least the SPCA.  Then maybe he would be treated differently.

Until we get our own twisted thinking corrected in this country, we’ll never have true justice.
