Alberto Lopez Sr. That’s the name of the officer who felt he had to make a point of attacking a young woman simply because his son had been involved in an auto accident with her. Oh, by the way, it was his son who rear-ended the car (which should have made Lopez Jr liable for a ticket).

But it was the woman who ended up in jail — on charges of assaulting an officer.

If this weren’t so pathetic, it would be laughable.

And the officer had the nerve to tell the store owner where this occurred to erase the security video tapes which recorded his actions. He even sent his buddies over later to request the same thing. They even recommended that the store owner change his story to protect the officer.

This is police brutality at its finest. Attempts to suppress or destroy evidence. Coercion of witnesses.

Out on his ear? Not a chance. Philadelphia can’t let a fine officer like this one be lost to the force. Internal affairs has cleared him and given him his gun back.

To terrorize who next? That’s the question every law abiding citizen in Philadelphia should be asking.
