Richard Cizik, chief lobbyist for the National Association of Evangelicals is the new face of ::: people who have lost their spiritual bearings.
You can listen to the interview on National Public Radio by clicking this link. WARNING: This interview may make you want to wretch.
Cizik talks in details about how the new “evangelicals” have a “different posture” on non-essential items such as gay marriage, abortion and the like. What’s important to Richard Cizik? Climate change.
Folks, this guy is at the top echelon of the NAE. He doesn’t have a clue as to the value of human life or the sanctity of marriage. Oh, I’m sure that you could argue that he’s willing to work WITH rather than work AGAINST an administration. But when I listen to Mr Cizik, I get the overall impression that his view of humility and Christianity is just the whitewashed liberal doctrine of tolerance which has put everyone on the same level field, everyone except those who believe there are absolute truths and that there are things which are still an abomination to God.
Mr. Cizik is also for supplying contraceptives from the government to people so they can have all the illicit relations they want while avoiding an unintended pregnancy which might result in abortion. Somehow, I don’t see Jesus or Paul or Peter doing that were they ever to be elected to public office. So why should Mr Cizik?
During his interview, he says, “If you don’t change the way you think and adapt … you may ultimately be a loser.” Mr. Cizik, some things don’t change. The truth doesn’t. God’s hatred of sin (which includes abortion and homosexuality) doesn’t change. You’ve moved away from that for political gain or social acceptance.
And apparently so have a lot of people who style themselves to be Evangelicals.
The question for Richard Cizik is, “What are you trying to win?”
There is absolutely nothing compassionate about the kind of tolerance that condones what God hates. Mr. Cizik has lost his eternal perspective: what is he teaching that really matters for eternity, for the salvation of souls? How does conforming to the world help anyone in eternity?
